No person residing in their household is disqualified from keeping animals or has had a deprivation order made under the Animal Welfare Act 2006 and/or has an unspent conviction for offences relating to animals.
The Animal Welfare Act 2006 makes owners and keepers responsible for ensuring that the welfare needs of animals under their responsibility are met. These include the needs of those animals for a suitable environment, a suitable diet, to exhibit normal behaviour patterns, to be housed with, or apart from, other animals (to the extent appropriate), and to be protected from pain, injury, suffering and disease. An offence can be committed for failure to meet these requirements. Anyone who is cruel to an animal, or does not provide for its welfare needs, may be banned from owning animals, fined up to £20,000 and/or sent to prison. People must legally own any pet for which they create a profile.
Pet profiles should contain information about their pet, their pet’s likes and dislikes, age, breed, medical condition, and a full, clear, up-to-date photo. Pets must be weaned and fully vaccinated before they can be registered. Dogs covered under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 (Pit Bull Terrier or Pit Bull Terrier crosses, Dogo Argentino, Fila Brasileiro and Japanese Tosa) cannot be registered.
People’s profiles should contain information about their experience with animals, why they would like to help, how they could help i.e. day care, respite, or rehoming, and an up-to-date photo.
People must not include any contact details in their profile. Profiles containing contact information will be deleted.
People must provide accurate and current information about themselves and their pets.
After registration people are permitted to use the messaging tool within the website, and exchange contact information, and/or arrange to meet up with their pets. Scampdoodles Charity reserves the right to monitor messages made using the messaging tool within the website.
People are responsible for ensuring their own safety when meeting new people. We recommend people follow the guidance contained in ‘keeping safe’.
People cannot charge a fee for fostering or adopting pets.
Pets cannot be sold.
People are responsible for completing and updating their profile data. They are responsible for keeping their password safe. They should not allow other people to use their profile. They are responsible for maintaining their contact preferences indicating if they wish to be contacted with news and fundraising appeals to ensure GDPR compliance. They are responsible for maintaining their Gift Aid compliance statement.
People can delete their profile at any time. The registration fee is non-refundable and may vary from
Profile content must not be misleading, offensive, indecent, unlawful or represent another person. Scampdoodles reserves the right to delete any profiles that it considers falls into these categories.
People make agreements to foster or adopt pets between themselves, and not with Scampdoodles Charity.
People cannot use the website for junk mail or to make posts for any commercial purposes, or to buy or sell goods.
People cannot deliberately upload viruses or hack other people’s accounts.
People not following these terms and conditions may have their profile deleted. If they have been contacting other users other than as permitted under these terms and conditions, then Scampdoodles Charity may contact these people and explain the reason for deletion.
The website may provide links to other websites but the charity cannot be responsible for the content of those sites.
